FAQ
Q&A – Have a question?
Please email info@greenschoolbrazil.com We will reply to you with an answer and if suitable we will add the Question and Answer to this page.
Course format
Typically, each topic will be introduced in our lecture room to contextualise the practical experience that will follow on site. This will typically be at an artisanal dairy, in a forest, on a plantation, in a distillery, at the bea hives or the organic hydroponic cultivation tunnels or the Araucaria nursery on the farm.
Enrolment
The first courses are planned for 2027. Students have to apply for enrolment and need to motivate their reasons and expectations for attending. We recommend that you sign up for our newsletter to be kept informed of all developments including when enrolment opens. Limited full and part bursaries are available for each semester for deserving candidates through the GreenThink Foundation. Details are not yet available for this.
Who is the typical student?
Other than the annual ‘over 50’ four-week semester (* see below), GSB does not accept any student under the age of 18 or older than 22. The ideal student is already engaged in environmental actions in their community and is motivated to enhance their social entrepreneurship skills, leadership skills and expand their environmental awareness and knowledge.
I have a special skill
It is expected that students may be able to also offer to teach other students on a topic that fits into the goals values and objectives of the Green School Brazil experience. This is welcomed and can be discussed further with GSB directly.
An Ongoing Relationship
Green School Brazil aims to provide an ongoing relationship with all students. Through the GreenThink Foundation, students are encouraged to remain an active part of the School and to be linked to a global community of environmental change makers that seek to impact the world and to initiate their own projects in the spirit of social entrepreneurship. Both Green School Brazil (and the Green Think Foundation) are actively integrating ourselves with a wide variety of environmental and educational organisations to build an extensive resource infrastructure to this end.
Over 50
Once a year GSB will hold a shorter, four-week semester for mature students who are over 50 years of age. The ideal student is still engaged in environmental actions in their community and it is intended that many of these students will be existing supporters of the GreenThink Foundation. Activities are ‘modified appropriately’ with some extra trips to the distillery, a greater emphasis on travel as well as guest chef culinary events!. The over 50 semester is aimed at encouraging those who can, to participate financially in the GreenThink Foundation student sponsorship programme run by the GreenThink Foundation. Sponsors become trustees of the bursary fund and choose beneficiary students from the written applications received.
